Auricular Acupuncture

This module on auricular acupuncture forms the foundation to build the students knowledge for the courses requiring the use of laser and acupuncture points such as the addictions and Life Unlimited program

Acupuncture  has roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine and operates with the idea that every form of illness is caused by an energy imbalance in the human body. According to the World Health Organization report on the efficacy of acupuncture, studies have shown that acupuncture is effective in inducing analgesia, protecting the body against infections and regulating various physiological functions.

It is found that although acupuncture is most often used as a measure to allay symptoms such as pain, it can alter the pathogenesis of the disease to provide relief from the disease as well.

Excellent clinical evidence also supports the use of acupuncture for addiction control. Research has shown that acupuncture can raise the level of endorphins in the nervous system. Resembling opiates in structure and function, endorphins are the body’s natural pain killers.

“Low-level laser” therapy is safe, pain-free, and scientifically  demonstrated to be effective for some conditions that respond to  acupuncture.  This course provides a solid foundation in the acupuncture theory for those wishing to use laser or electro stimulation in the areas of  quit smoking, addiction, weight loss and pain treatment. Note: This is a base course and is intended to be used as a module in other courses such as addiction and weight loss.

Classroom (Didactic) Education

In this course you are will learn the basic theory of acupuncture, meridian points and the extra points. You will learn to use the non-invasive methods of low level laser acupuncture and electroacupuncture.

Hands On Training

You will have the opportunity to  perform an auricular  treatment using a low level laser.

Your tuition includes a course manual that consists of written reference materials and  examples of history, consent and policy forms.

Exam

There is an exam at the end of the course successful completion of which is required in order to gain a certificate of achievement.
